2009 OVERVIEW
2010 SBA ANNUAL MEETING
February 11, 2010

My rendition of the 2009 Overview will not duplicate, in detail, information that will be covered by others. However, I will mention certain areas that will be presented later because of their importance.

Some of the most visible happenings on the Island this past year have been:

Islander Award - 2010 SBA Annual Meeting

A statement attributed to Bette Davis – and many of you are old enough to remember her! – is “If you want a thing done well, get a couple of old broads to do it!”

This year’s recipient of the Islander Award can get it done all by herself and she is not quite old yet!

2009 Mustard Seed Thanksgiving

This year, the SBA is once again, proudly planning to support the effort of the Mustard Seed Ministries to feed thousands on Thanksgiving Day in our community. Only this year the need is even greater. Due to the state of the economy, more people are in need with fewer donations coming in. Organizers expect to feed possibly over 10,000 people, up from last year’s over 8,000.

In summary, the best way to help this worthy undertaking is

  1. Gift cards to any local grocery store in any amount.
