Proposed Bridge Reconfiguration Meeting. Sept 17th
To: All Members of the South Beach Association
YOUR INPUT IS IMPORTANT
WHAT: South Causeway Bridge Reconfiguration Public Input Meeting
WHEN: Saturday, September 17, 2011 9-11am
WHERE: Riverwalk Center
The Transportation Planning Organization (TPO) is conducting a study to reconfigure the South Bridge on Seaway Drive from 4 traffic lanes with 2 pedestrian walkways to 2 traffic lanes with enlarged pedestrian walkways and new bicycle lanes on each side. This would be accomplished with Federal monies and could be as much as five years in the future.
Everyone who uses the bridge in a car, on a bicycle, walking, running or pushing a baby stroller is a "stakeholder" for this study. It is important for you to have the facts about the proposal so we have arranged with the TPO for you to be able to view the Conceptual Plans. CLICK HERE to go to the TPO website. Click on "South Causeway Bridge Conceptual Plans" and scroll down. You will see 5 pages of existing conditions on the bridge and the east and west sides and the proposed alternatives.
Then, plan to attend the "Public Input Meeting" on September 17th to hear a presentation and have the opportunity to ask questions, voice your concerns and offer your support or opposition. YOUR INPUT IS VITAL! If the public wants the reconfiguration, it will go forward. If the public does not want it, the monies will go elsewhere. It is that simple.
