July Parks Advisory Committee Report

As you recall the Parks Advisory Committee was formed to address and make recommendations to the City Commission on two issues;
1. Vendors being allowed to sell or rent their products within our city parks.
2. General and specific parking problems within our City parks.

EXPLORATION OF SAND BY-PASSING PROJECT AT THE JETTY

Per my June update, I attended the Public Workshop meeting on June 10th. There is concern that our sand resource will be gone in eleven years. This project, which is in the beginning fact finding stage, is simply a method to store some or all the 130,000 cubic yards of sand required annually to maintain our beaches directly S of the Inlet. This sand would be available to place on our beaches as it is currently done.

Currently there are two options. In both, a 2,300 ft. long basin is constructed beginning just W of the North side of the Jetty.
